What happens if dentures are not made to replace missing teeth?

What is a fixed prosthesis?
Köprü, kron, kaplama olarak da bilinen sabit protezler, ağızda az sayıda diş eksikliğinde uygulanan ve destek dişlerin kesilmesi (küçültülmesi) ile laboratuarda hazırlanıp dişlere yapıştırılan protezlerdir. Dişlerin ağızda görünen kısımlarının yerine yapılan ve hasta tarafından çıkarılamayan protezlerdir.
Takılıp çıkartılabilen protezlere oranla hasta tarafından daha kolay kabul edilir ancak uygulanabilmesi için bir takım koşulların var olması gereklidir. Dişlerin hazırlanması ve ölçü alınmasını takiben 3-4 seansta ve 1 haftada işlem tamamlanır.
Protezin metal destekli seramik (porselen), Metalsiz seramik (porselen), Porselen laminate olmak üzere çeşitleri vardır.
